McGregor Praises Engels' Commitment and Potential

Callum McGregor, captain of Scottish giants Celtic, has expressed his confidence in new signing Arne Engels, predicting that the young defender will repay the club's faith in him with spades.

Engels, 20, joined Celtic from Belgian club Club Brugge in the summer and has quickly impressed during pre-season, earning praise from manager Ange Postecoglou.

And McGregor, who has been capped 47 times by Scotland, believes that Engels has all the attributes to become a success at Parkhead.

"I'm really excited about Arne," McGregor said. "He's a young player with a lot of potential and he's already shown in pre-season what he's capable of."

"He's a very good defender, he's strong in the air and he's good on the ball. He's also very coachable and he's keen to learn."

"I'm sure he'll repay that trust in spades. He's a great addition to the squad and I'm looking forward to seeing him develop in the years to come."

Engels is expected to make his competitive debut for Celtic in the Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday.
