Bangladesh's New President Takes Oath of Office

Mohammed Shahabuddin Sworn in as 16th President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

Parliamentary Speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury administered the oath of office to Shahabuddin on Monday, marking the beginning of his term as the 22nd president of Bangladesh.

Mohammed Shahabuddin, a Bangladeshi jurist, civil servant, and politician, officially became the 16th president of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The oath of office was administered by Parliamentary Speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury on Monday at Bangabhaban, the official residence of the president. Shahabuddin's presidency marks the beginning of a new chapter in Bangladesh's history.
