Call of Duty Black Ops - Discontinued
Games Discontinued for Online Play
Multiplayer Option Removed
Activision has officially discontinued online multiplayer support for Call of Duty: Black Ops, Black Ops II, and Black Ops III. This means that players will no longer be able to connect to the online servers to play with others or access online features. The decision to discontinue support was made due to the age of the games and the need to focus on newer titles in the series.
While the online multiplayer servers for these games will be shut down, players will still be able to play the single-player campaigns and local multiplayer modes offline. However, any progress or achievements made in the online multiplayer modes will be lost.
Activision has recommended that players who wish to continue playing Call of Duty online switch to the latest titles in the series, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II or Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.
